A quick review of a nail stengthener!

Soooo... It's 640 AM and I have had no sleep, so I decided to write a SUPER fast blog review on my new favorite nail strengthener in the world! Now I don't know about you, but I have some super dry, brittle, easy to crack nails. I am pretty sure I inherited them from my mother(thanks mom!). I have NEVER been able to grow my nails out! Pretty sure I've tried almost every strengthener under the sun too. Well! I am a youtube-a-holic and I found this one on a youtube (oh how I wish I could remember the name of the girl that posted it) video where the girl talked about how she grew her nails. She used this Sally Hansen strengthener. Well, I have used a lot of Sally Hansen strengtheners with NO luck but, a lot of people that commented said they tried it and it was amazing! So I went ahead and tried it! BEST THING I EVER DID! Sally Hansen Complete Care extra moisturizing 4-in-1 nail treatment. That's the name. It's the one in the pink bottle. THIS STUFF ROCKS! I use it as a base coat and a top coat. It honestly takes forever to chip vs. a lot of other top coats I've used. I have noticed VAST improvement in my nails. They're growing longer and much, much stronger. :) Give it a try!!! I even have my mom trying it out! Sorry no photos ... but again... it's crazy early in the AM and I still haven't slept! I will be doing another tutorial today or tomorrow :)

Dexter Inspired/Themed Nails

In honor of the season finale, I did a themed nail design. I think it turned out pretty cool. Honestly, you could totally do this nail technique with other colors of nail polish and come out with some pretty cool designs. Alright... Let's get this started!

First thing first, you'll need a paper plate or newspaper, a red nail polish, a white nail polish, a topcoat, a straw, scotch tape, and a toothpick. At the end of the tutorial, I'll actually list the colors I used.

The first thing you're going to need to do is paint your nails with an opaque white. I did two to three coats depending on how it was coming out. Always make sure you're painting on clean nails!!! My top coat is actually a base coat/top coat/strengthener that I use under the white. It helps it go on smoother and has been keeping the polish on longer for me. Make sure your nails are dry before moving on.

You're going to want to make sure your plate is ready with the straw right beside you. You'll need to tape your finger. I just use three strips per finger. I would suggest doing one finger at time, and by that i mean tape one finger, follow the steps, and take the tape off before you start on the other. So, one piece of tape on either side of the nail, as close to the nail itself as possible and one down the middle on the top. It is essential to tape your nail otherwise you'll get red polish everywhere, and I do mean everywhere.

Alright, now that your finger is covered up in tape, you're going to put a couple few drops of red nail polish on the plate. You are going to then take your straw and dip it in the paint. You'll want a fair amount of it on the end of the straw, but not too much so that it's gloopy.

Now the fun part! you take the unpainted end and stick it in your mouth. Blow hard! Make sure you blow hard, it might take a few times to get the hang of it.. I suggest practicing on the plate itself if this is your first time doing it. Put the end of the straw with paint on it closer to the nail for bigger blots, and farther away for more of as spray technique.

Now you can see why that tape is so essential! Give it about a minute or two to somewhat dry then remove the tape. If there is any paint on your fingers just use a q-tip and some nail polish remover for some quick clean up. Once it's dry add a top coat and bam! Dexter inspired nails.

Now if you want to write "Dexter" on your nails, it's about as simple as writing. Put some paint drops on your plate and dip the end of the toothpick into it. Write "DEX" on one finger, "TER" on the other. I found it easiest to start with the Middle letter and work out for spacing. The way you get the blots of blood around the letters is just by dipping your toothpick in the paint again and just smudging some paint here and there to look like blood drops. Then wait for it to dry and use your favorite top coat. Simple as that.

Well I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and found it helpful :) If anything is unclear to you, or you have questions, just leave me a comment <3

November Birch Box 2011

I KNOW!!! I am so late doing this, but as I did just make my blog.. haha.. this is going to be a review of my birch box from November of 2011.. got some FUN products :D ... i will list what I got with the picture of the card that has all the information on it. For those that don't know, Birch Box is a company that sends you deluxe size samples of beauty products... sometimes you'll get a full size product. It's 10 dollars a month, or if you do a year it's 110 which makes it so you have one month off of paying basically. The products in it are basically worth more than 10 dollars in my opinion, plus who doesn't like getting a present once a month that is ALWAYS a surprise? I'd also like to note that I am 100% paying for birch box on my own, they give me no royalties, and all the opinions I have are completely my own. I basically get nothing out of this, but I enjoy the box a LOT! If you would like to subscribe to birch box click the link below =:

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills HydraFull gloss in Sugar Pink
2. Harvey Prince Eau Flirt perfume
3. Supersmile Professional Whitening Toothpaste
4. Zoya nail polish in Holly
~TREAT~ Chuao Chocolatier Firecracker Chocopod

Alright, now let's get into the reviews.
Number one. What can I say about this gloss....except... I LOVE IT!! I hate super sticky lip glosses that dry out your lips and do nothing for you. I can honestly say that this lip gloss moisturized my lips as promised and they DID look noticeably plumper. I actually bought this product because of trying it. I am SUPER happy with the purchase, I actually wear it a lot :) SO yes, the first thing was AMAZING!

on to two... The perfume. How do I describe it. When I first put it on it smelled somewhat citrusy to be honest. I wasn't so sure about that but then it changed into being more of spice smell. It actually reminded me a lot of pumpkin spice for cooking. Not terrible. I am very picky about perfumes, so I probably won't be buying it. I mean it wasn't just dreary or awful or anything. It just didn't wow me. I mean it was a pleasant smell, I wore it for 3 days, but it just wasn't enough of a wow factor for me to be crazy about it.

Number three... the toothpaste. It did whiten my teeth a bit. Mine was kind of minty. It wasn't a horribly large tube but it was adequate enough to test it. I don't think I'll be switching cuz I can't justify paying that amount for a toothpaste that I have had similar results with a cheaper one soo..that's about all I can say about that haha.

Number four. MY BEAUTIFUL ZOYA!! This color is amazing! Although I have found with Zoya nail polishes, my nails tend to chip faster? I'm not sure if I've just had bad luck, but i do strongly suggest using a SUPER amazing top coat with them. The color though... oh my stars the most amazing green! It's VERY Christmasy. Here, I'll post a photo of my nails I did the night I got it. They have crackle over them in black by OPI and the accent nail has last friday night over top.

The last product was a chocolate bar. It's our treat, every month birch box includes a treat from them to you. Well, I do not like chocolate! So... I gave it to my boyfriend. He loves spicy food, and it had cayenne in it, and he loves chocolate. He said it wasn't very good. It had a strange flavor to him and wasn't terribly spicy. I'm sure some people like it, but just not for either of us

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed! If you have any questions leave them in the comment section below.

Christmas Nails

My first post!!!! YAY SO EXCITING!!!!! *victory dance* ok I'm done with that... I think today we'll discuss my wonderful, amazing, gorgeous, BEAUTIFUL nail design. Alright, nah it's not all THAT amazing, but I am quite fond of it. It's Christmas inspired. But honestly, if you didn't do the accent nail you could totally pull it off with a Minnie Mouse costume, for all you disney lovers out there! It's pretty simple. Here, I'll post a pic:
SEE!!! Super simple and cute! Here's one of the other hand:
The accent nail was done with water marbling, I was going for that peppermint candy cane, but the ones with green in them. I felt there was enough red in this design. Needed a break somewhere. Here's a list of the polishes I used:

~Sooki by Zoya (red)
~Holly by Zoya (green)
~the white is just a basic white I found.. barely buff?
~Teenage Dream by OPI for the glitter stripe
~Sally Hansen Complete Care extra moisturizing 4 in 1 treatment as a base coat/topcoat. this stuff is AMAZING! I will be doing a review on that sometime this week.

And that's it. I'll post how I did it later on this week when I post the nail design I had on before this one actually. <3 Hope you enjoyed!
Loves and Kisses,
